ORIGIN: Hindu (Vedic)

TYPE: Primordial goddess of uncertain affinities.

INFORMATION: Saranyu is the daughter of the god Tvastar, and the sister of Visvarupa. Her consort is Vivasvat, by whom she is said to be the mother of Yama and Yami, the twin progenitors of the human race. Little else is known of her, but she is accounted as having an impetuous nature.
